The Expo S-10 E 3×4 is a more affordable yet fully featured pedal steel guitar. 3 pedals and 4 knee levers. Made in the USA.
GFI begin with an all aluminum frame to provide maximum stability in a lighter weight structure. All the aluminum is extruded aircraft grade material, no castings are used. Pedal steel guitars are subject to a large amount of string tension and then additional stresses as the strings are pulled by the pedals and knee levers to change pitch. GFI instruments are designed to provide as much stability as possible and minimize any adverse performance effects those stresses might cause in a package that is as light weight as possible.
The 10 string pick up is the PH10 double coil humbuckers made by Steeltronics. The Steeltronics PH10 is a two row pole humbucker design giving silent operation while creating a tone very similar to a single coil pickup. A special grade of alnico is used for the pole magnets to create smooth highs, and the coil winds are relatively light to create a clear response in the bass register. Each of the two coils is wax potted to prevent microphonics.
Comes with a hardshell carpet covered and carpet lined case.
